Level 4 — People Analytics Toolkit
Instant digital download — two documents delivered immediately upon checkout. This is a self-paced, self-implemented workbook. No live session or ongoing support call is included or required — the included Analytics Implementation Guide is a complete, illustrated, self-serve reference for every sheet and metric in the toolkit.
Turn workforce data into transparent management decision-support — a formula-driven analytics workbook you run yourself.
A professional-grade, formula-driven Excel workbook covering 15 diagnostic sheets — from turnover and absence through to pay equity, engagement and span of control — paired with an illustrated implementation guide that walks you through every sheet and metric at your own pace.
Designed for HR professionals who want transparent, auditable analytics they control entirely, not a black-box dashboard they cannot explain to a board.
What's included
1. The People Analytics Toolkit (Excel workbook, 15 formula-driven sheets)
Built on a dynamic data table that scales beyond the sample size. Sheets include:
- Start Here — a control panel orienting you to the workbook structure
- Assumptions — editable thresholds you set to match your organisation's own benchmarks
- Executive People Dashboard — a board-ready summary view drawing from all diagnostic sheets
- Workforce Data — a sample data table; replace with your own records, keeping the same column structure, and every other sheet recalculates automatically
- KPI Dictionary — defining every metric's formula and its known limitations
- Diagnostic sheets: Turnover, Absence, Recruitment, Payroll, 12-Month Cost Scenario Planner, Data Quality, Diversity & Inclusion, Engagement, Learning & Development, Compensation & Pay Equity, and Span of Control
This toolkit provides broad coverage across most core HR metric domains — not only turnover and absence. Small-group views are automatically suppressed below a minimum sample size to protect individual privacy.
2. NEW — The Analytics Implementation Guide (illustrated PDF)
- A sheet-by-sheet reference for the entire workbook
- A four-step method for reading any diagnostic: Question, Metric, Threshold, Action
- A step-by-step guide to safely replacing the sample data with your own records
- A fully worked interpretation example
The Interactive Toolkit Web App (installable, self-hosted)
A companion set of plain web files included in your download, which you install on your own domain or hosting environment to get an offline-capable, installable app. Everything runs and stays in your own browser — nothing is uploaded to The Executive HR Lab. This is not a native iPhone or Android app. Note: this Level 4 web app build includes only the analytics modules below, not the Level 1–3 tools. Included modules:
- 10 HR KPI Calculators: turnover, absence, overtime ratio, time-to-fill, engagement at-risk and promoter share, training participation, gender pay gap, span of control, and female representation — each using the same flag thresholds as the workbook's own Assumptions sheet
- A mass-upload mode that reads a file in the same Workforce Data layout as the toolkit (.xlsx or .csv) and computes all 10 KPIs automatically
Who this is for
People analytics teams, HRBPs, HR directors and CHROs who need transparent, formula-driven metrics they can explain and defend — not a vendor-managed dashboard. Also suited to independent HR consultants who want editable analytical IP for client engagements (Consultant/Client licence required).
How it works
- Download both files instantly upon checkout
- Open the workbook and review the Start Here control panel
- Replace the sample data in the single Workforce Data sheet with your own records, keeping the same column structure
- Every other sheet recalculates automatically — the Dashboard, all diagnostics and the Scenario Planner all update from that one data source
- Use the Analytics Implementation Guide alongside the workbook for the interpretation method and worked example
- Install the web app on your own hosting environment to use the KPI calculators and mass-upload tool
No call, session or contact with The Executive HR Lab is needed at any point.
A note on sample data and metrics
All data included in the workbook is fictional and provided for illustrative purposes only. Metrics such as Engagement Score are examples of how the sheet functions and must be validated against your organisation's own methodology, definitions and data sources before any results are presented internally or published externally. The Executive HR Lab makes no representation that the sample metrics reflect your organisation's actual position.
